It eats up the competition, at least that is what we have gathered. So what is with Quad-core CPU’s? Well for a start they are the future. Game designers can code processes to run on each core: storm and weather effects could run on core 1 for example, while physics could run on core 2 for example, etc. etc. We have already hit terrabyte storage capacity and this no longer sounds bizare, neither does 8GB (well maybe a little). So the next step is bigger adoption of Quad-core CPU’s, then game designers have no choice but to code games to harness the brute force power of these CPUs, game designers say it’s more complex to code for; well we want the better games so get coding.
