http://www.any-network.com/ scam

By admin | Posted in Gadgets | 50 Comments so far

I bought their Iphone unlock SIM for the IPhone 3G and it did sweet FA, didn’t work, absolutely NO customer support whatsoever. I have had to file a dispute with Pay-Pal which I equally despise, but so far, it has been a waste of about £35. First of all the SIM piggyback WILL NOT fit into your iPhone properly and will probably get stuck and force you to use some extra implementation to remove it and possibly damage it. Do i blame Any-network.com for trying to unlock it? No, I personally think Apple in their stupid vendor unethical lock in philosophy is far worse, but I have to “out” this company as they never even bothered to answer any email.

Apple is unethical, because I am tied to some stupid network in another country, and they have made it very difficult to unlock, be warned a lot of companies propose to sell Sim solutions but they don’t work. Any-network based out of the UK, make this mod chip, but there are two problems I experienced: one is the instructions are bad, two is it is a deficient product, in that after trying to insert it twice it started to snap off at the bottom, and thirdly they DON’T answer a single question if you have a problem.

So:

Apple suck

Any-network sucks.

ARE YOU SERIOUS?! this is ridiculous…I just brought the v3 chip from them about 4 days ago and they still haven’t assigned a tracking number to me yet. and of course, they never answered my emails. I am sorry this happened to you!

Did you ever get your money back?

  3. Posted by bigbrok 3rd December, 2008 at 7:45 am

seems it really is a scam, will definitely dispute this with my credit card company if NO V3 arrives tomorrow.

I also have the feeling that ukphoneshop and any-network are partners since my messages are being blocked with link to your site.

and if you read the posts/messages at ukphoneshop, it seems the posters are from any-network giving false hopes to those who bought the FAKE V3.

You must have the wrong company as I have had two cards and have had no problems at all.

Just give them a call. They answer the phone.

any way there the only one with a solution to unlocking the 2.2 iphone software

    Hi Andrew,

I thought we had sorted it. It’s a bit harsh calling us scammers. we are trying our best to keep everyone happy. Please feel free to contact me and we will sort it for you. Were not far from Chorley.

I purchased the V3 device on 27/11/2008..its coming to 2 weeks and nothing!…no reply to calls….no reply to emails…no V3 device through my letterbox….nothing!…

I’ve been having the same probem. was ment to get my v3 on the 29th of november and have no such luck. I’ve called them not stop since and havent herd a thing. They never pick up the phone. If they dont start sorting me out with one soon they’ll be hell to pay

  11. Posted by Josh Doctolero 9th December, 2008 at 11:18 am

I ordered the V3 last Dec. 01 with Any-network.com knowing their 3-4 days intl delivery crap. As of this writing, I haven’t received the item. Worst of it all, the tracking # they gave was not valid. Im totally disappointed with their service. No email, no update on the shipping status.

Im giving them a deadline until Friday or I’ll make sure that PAYPAL will blacklist this scammers!

  12. Posted by Aardvark 10th December, 2008 at 5:29 am

I have bought any-networks V2 sim and that was delivered ok and worked fine. My V3 sim has been on order now with them since 27th November and despite being sent a ‘tracking’ number (and remember these Royal mail tracking numbers are taken from the labels you get at the post office and do not track mail in transit - only after delivery so do not prove despatch) I have received nothing. No responses to my emails no replies to my telephone calls. I really do not want this to be a scam but it is looking that way.

  13. Posted by Aardvark 10th December, 2008 at 8:16 am

Just as a follow up and as fate would have it, my Any-Network V3 sim arrived in the post this morning. It works flawlessly, infact much better than the previous V2 sim with a better signal, data roaming turned off!, 3G fully operational and life is good again (lol). I still think that after 15 days of not comms, Any-Network has to consider improving this, even if it is by way of a quick reply email, or even an automated response if for nothing else but to acknowledge us as buyers. Anyhow, I just wanted to let you guys know that everything works fine.

  14. Posted by admin 10th December, 2008 at 9:10 am

@Any network. I tried contacting you but no replies were sent, If I ship it back to the UK now, then it will be coming from Canada. I tried it with a Rogers SIM but couldn’t get it to work. Easiest way is for me to sell the IPhone 3G and buy another here.

  15. Posted by bigbrok 10th December, 2008 at 9:33 am

    @ Aardvark

That’s good news, so will still hope that my V3 arrives by Friday. So far there’s some movement with my tracking number.

    Let’s see.

  16. Posted by Aardvark 10th December, 2008 at 10:32 am

Oh dear. As the day has progressed I find that I cannot get any data access on my iphone, even though the V3 sim allows text and phone calls. I didn’t realize earlier that I had my iphone connected to the wireless network so it was only after I had switched this off that the problem with data was found (doh yes i know…). I vae set up all the APN settings but nothig doing……

  17. Posted by Jose 11th December, 2008 at 8:14 am

    @ aardvark

Which was best - no sim adapter or no data. I am not getting any love from any-network either.

  18. Posted by bigbrok 12th December, 2008 at 7:15 am

    It’s already 12 December, still haven’t received my V3.

Anyone who ordered, 27 November and got their V3?

    This is really disappointing!!!

  19. Posted by tor-björn 13th December, 2008 at 10:07 am

I’ve got my V3 two days ago and ordered on the day of the release. It was a long time to wait but I guess that’s understandable when they are the only one that has a working solution for this problem…or?
First I coulden’t get it to work at all. Then I put the sim back in my old phone, rechose network and put it back in my iphone.
Ok, it worked! ..I thought untill I realized that people can’t call me, the calls go to my voice mail.
Also if connection to the network is droped, I have to take out the sim and put it in another phone and then back again to get it back.

    This really sucks!!

  20. Posted by Aardvark 14th December, 2008 at 7:44 am

I have abandoned all hope of getting the V3 sim to work. Wasted much time and much money. bigbrok my posts got deleted on that other forum you mentioned. Maybe I should have just said nice warm and cuddly things about Any Network’s customer service but why should I lie? For now o2 has the iPhone and I will run mine as a payandgo and settle for my faithful little MDA Touch to run my t-mobile contract on.

  21. Posted by Josh Doctolero 14th December, 2008 at 11:41 am

    Any-Network,

I’ve given up on the waiting game. Paypal advised me to file the dispute and formal complain after 20 days (that would be 21st Dec).

On the good side to protect other consumers, I’ve spread out my worst experience to some local iphone users site (well about 1300 users/members, 800 are using Sim solutions) NOT TO PURCHASE your product due to non delivery/support and forewarn with your scam. Indeed, not so good endorsement.

Well, let’s call it even. Sadly, I’m not yet finish. I’m just warming up.

  22. Posted by bigbrok 14th December, 2008 at 7:34 pm

same here, I already filed a dispute with my credit card company.

to those who are reading this, please spread the world.

And to any-network, it’s been a frustrating experience dealing with your company. What a shame!!

  23. Posted by malcontent 15th December, 2008 at 9:15 am

Today, I give up trying to get anything out of any-network. I have given them so many chances to prove that they can come up with the goods before and after I stupidly upgraded to 2.2. I believe at heart they are trying, but it’s so difficult to get them to respond to voicemails or emails.

Time to give rebel sim a go. Not that hopeful, but better than just letting my iphone sit there gathering dust.

To any-network: you need to work on your PR - BADLY!

    Adios.

    Hi

I get the same problems that malconten get

I order my v 3 around the 28 of november I receved today
and I cant get it to work at all.. just for a few minuts then I need to take it out and then in again and it works for 5 minuts but not with 3G so at this moment This product sucks big time!

I hope that they will contact me tomorrow!!

  25. Posted by fredrik Losman 15th December, 2008 at 1:28 pm

    Hi

I got this from another site

    http://www.avforums.com/forums/iphone-discussions/831668-any-network-does-seem-work-helpful-hint.html

    1.Disable 3G Settings -> General -> Network -> Disable 3G
2.Disable Data Roaming Settings -> General -> Network -> Data Roaming
3 restart iphone with no sim in
4 put sim in other phone and make call
5 insert sim in iphone and set APN details
    6 Activate Data roaming
but this only get my Iphone working in 2 g but at the moment it seams that there are No 3g connection here since my wife have have the same I be back tomorrow and se if I got 3G connection but it works any way and that is mutch better than nothing

  26. Posted by Edward W Getsch 16th December, 2008 at 3:31 pm

I’ve given up on the waiting game. Paypal advised me to file the dispute and I did.
This is a SCAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Dont fall for iED

  27. Posted by Genna V 16th December, 2008 at 9:15 pm

Well yes mine was late by 3 days but it works fine.
I would just like to point out that I run my own company an know how it feels when your under pressure trying to please every one. You ONLY get the bad feed back not any good ones.

As it Stand the ANY NETWORK card is the most reliable and the only one which is supporting 2.2 .. Fully that is.

If you have any problems don’t bother emailing them as I was told they have a 4 day backlog of emails due to the vast amount of orders they have had………. just ring them like I did.. They do answer and are very helpfuly..

    They are defo not scammers..

  28. Posted by antz 17th December, 2008 at 5:23 pm

I got my V3 after almost 3 weeks of waiting. It does work except that there is now way to get 3G signal. This will do for the meantime.

    I am from the Philippines.

  29. Posted by Torque Francisco 17th December, 2008 at 7:24 pm

I’ve ordered minse last Dec. 1 and as of this writing, this is what I’m getting:

Your item, posted on 15/12/08 with reference RJ234297084GB has been passed to the overseas postal service for delivery in PHILIPPINES.

So wheres the commitment? No explantion? Or you guys belong to Craig’s list of scammers?

I’ll wait until Dec 24. Other wise I will file a dispute. One problem to look forward to, if ever this will be delivered, from the postings…will it work??? @#$$%&….Any Network….are you legitimate or just scammers hungry for money?

  30. Posted by malcontent 18th December, 2008 at 12:32 pm

After failing to hear from Any-network, I escalated it to a claim, which was immediately closed as they state they are unable to make claims for “quality of the goods”. They only act if the goods are not delivered.

    So much for paypal.

Time to start spreading the word that Any-network, scammers or not, are just unhelpful, uncommunicative and not worth bothering with.

  31. Posted by africa muneti 18th December, 2008 at 1:09 pm

while i havent purchased the v3 sim yet,i am of the opinion that no one else out there has a solution for unlocking the 3g phone,so based on that fact, and the few good reports on this blog,i might as well give any-network a try…unless someone there can tell me of another product that works…am desperate

  32. Posted by antz 18th December, 2008 at 5:56 pm

    @Torque

Just wait for it. My tracking looked that way for about a week. When I got my notice from my postal service, the item was shipped 12 December 2008, arrived on the 16th and got it the following day.

Honestly, I also thought it was a scam and told myself to wait at least after a month, ordered mine 27th of November.

When iPhone 3G is activated using Globe, you can not enable 3G connection, what I did i was to create a new IPSW and check Activate and restored and I can get a data connection. Thing is, when 3G and Data Roaming is ON, there’s no incoming calls.

  33. Posted by Torque Francisco 18th December, 2008 at 9:56 pm

    @ Antz

Thanks for the advice. I’ll update everybody if ever I receive it today or next week before Christmas. I’m going to use it on a jail broken 3G unit and will be inserting a Smart sim. I just hope it will work when I receive it.

Good thing there is a confirmation from you that they do really ship, it i just the uncertainty while waiting that Any-Network needs to resolve…they need to boost their company’s integritt now that a lot of consumer is inpatiently waiting. Thanks dude! It was relief!

  34. Posted by malcontent 19th December, 2008 at 7:33 am

Let me put it this way, if you buy something from any-network, you might well get it delivered, it might even work (for a time), but neither of these are guaranteed, much less likely.

My advice, is to try one of the others doing the same sort of thing. I’m waiting for a rebel sim card to arrive. I will post back when I’ve tried it out.

  35. Posted by luca 19th December, 2008 at 11:47 am

Hi guys, I’m from Italy and I got my AT&T locked 3G iPhone last summer in Los Angeles. I bought both the V2 and the V3 (after having stupidly upgraded to 2.2) and here it is: the old one worked quite well (data connection so and so), the new one is good for the phone BUT I HAVE NO DATA CONNECTION AT ALL!!..I tried to contact any network but I got no answer to my emails and the phone number looks like it’s disconnected. still waiting for an answer…

  36. Posted by AG 21st December, 2008 at 11:57 pm

I received the v3 sim from any-network yesterday. It works only if your going to use your phone at home. If you’re in the car and you lose signal for even a second, the v3 sim stops working and you have to take your sim and put it in another phone, make a call and then put it back in your iphone untill you lose signal again.

Basically its a SCAM, dont buy it. Seems i am not the only one to have this same problem with the v3.

For now iam the proud owner of an iPod and will not make a mistake of buying apple products again.

NOKIA 5800 company unlocked and half the price.

I sympathise for all the victims of Any-network as I am one. They are a bunch of scammers avoid them like plague unless you wish to loose your money. After 14 days the v3 arrived but it did not work I tried all the various manoeuvres but nothing worked. Tried to contact support on several occasions but did not get through only got voice mails. Sent several email did not get a single reply. They are cheats and scammers. I tried to make a claim with paypal and had the standard reply that they are unable to make claims for “quality of the goods”. They only act if the goods are not delivered. Dont pay using paypal you are better protected if you have paid using credit card. Call the credit card company and reverse the charges. If you are in UK under the distance selling act you are entitled to a full refund if the product is defective. We all need to file complaint with the trading standards office and teach these scammers a lesson. They have closed the blog and now taken out the contact telephone number from their website. Please spread the word around and post any other websites or forum details where we can put our comments. I have ordered a rebel sim and I will keep you posted on this.

You can check the link above and see that any-network V3 is working. The only problem is that I need to take out my SIM and put it to another phone then back to iPhone to make a data connection.

Other than that, everything is working on my end.

I also purchased a v3 2.2 chip. it did come after a week but dose not work.
Did get data and 3g for 24 hours then no sim message.
Have sent many emails to any-network and through pay pal but no reply.
I asked pay-pal to investigate after a few days with no change and they closed the case in 2 min as they only covers non delivery.

wast of time and money and also found out that pay pal cover is also very poor.
Spread the word. THIS DOSE NOT WORK.

    Hello people,
I posted a complain earlier about any-network, it was a little to fast. I recieved my unlock card/chip today for my 3g firmware 2.2 and it works great!! I have bouth a new phone from Italie without simlock. When I compair them there is no diff, I can use everything on my iPhone, before the update to 2.2 I used a universal sim, but I have to take it out or put it in airplain mode for use with itunes. with the card from any-network i can use it like it is with iTunes. I orderd the card 2,5 weeks ago, recieved a letter with apologise for the delay, and in the future thay deliver on time. So maybe this helps when you like to buy a v3 card from any-network.

  49. Posted by malcontent 31st December, 2008 at 8:33 am

Ok, so I have been using my Rebel SIM now for just over a week. The results are not perfect, but so far usable and consistent which is more than can be said for the 4 any-network devices I tried.

I have had no problems with the SIM in both making and receiving calls as long as I don’t use 3G. If I turn on 3G, I can’t receive calls. GPRS did work initially, but now won’t make a connection since back from Spain but I am happy just to have it working as a phone for now.

Also, I find I don’t have to put the phone in airplane mode for some reason when I connect to iTunes which is a nice little bonus!

TIP: I found that I could not get the SIM registered or working in anyway on vodafone in the iPhone, unless I turned off the phone the SIM came out of (as opposed to just removing the battery while still on). This allows the network to register that the phone is being switched off instead of simply disappearing.

I will post again as and when (or if) I get GPRS or even 3G working!

    Toodle pip.
