This would most certainly follow biodegradable cell-phones and such apparatus. Environmental pressures mean that more and more electronics manufacturers must look at these options. With crude oil next to the $100 a barrel mark, it will become more and more expensive just to throw away electronics even recycle. If circuit design can improve and bioengineering advances there is no reason biodegradable polymers can’t be used in the manufacture of many electronic devices. If you add in bio-engineered devices, used cellphones could technically be planted to grow crops in under-developed environments that are genetically resistant to water shortages for example.
