Ultimate BBQ Sauce
By admin | Posted in Living | No Comments
I love BBQ sauce, similar to how cats like milk. I have spent a ton buying all types, but only a few times found really good barbeque sauce. After trying literally hundreds I decided to make my own, through experimentation I think I made what I think is the ultimate BBQ sauce, and it’s really simple to make. So here is the ingredient list:
Things you need:
- Bottle of ketchup (1 cup)
- Bottle of HP sauce (brown sauce) (1/2 cup)
- Onion powder (level tablespoon)
- Garlic powder ( heaped tea spoon)
- Demerara sugar (2 heaped tablespoons)
- Jack Daniels (two shots)
- Chilli powder (1/2 teaspoon)
- Paprika (teaspoon)
- Sea Salt (tablespoon)
- Pepper (1/2 teaspoon)
- Tomato powder (2 teaspoons)
- Oregano (teaspoon)
- Turmeric (teaspoon)
- Cayenne pepper (1/2 teaspoon)
- Basil (teaspoon)
- Malt Vinegar (few blasts from bottle)
- Worcester sauce (few blasts from bottle)
This makes enough sauce for about 4 people or maybe 16 wings, or a rack of ribs. Trust me it’s the best; you can play around with these quantities, if you like it sweeter add more Demerara sugar, hotter then add more chilli powder. All the herb ingredients should be ground in a pestle and mortar, the rest you just add and mix, the consistency should be thick and dark, whilst being slightly grainy looking.
