The techtionary tech-tion-ary {taken from dictionary} is a compiled list of confusing IT terms or acronyms.

SKU Numbers

What are SKU numbers? When manufacturers make a product it will assign it a SKU or Stock Keeping Unit number. It is an identification number, and on the web if you know the SKU number you can search for stores that sell the product you want. It is unique for that model.

Bandwidth

Refers to amount of data that can be transfered through an interface at one time sometimes timed per second.

Overclocking

Art of increasing a graphics / Cpu / Memory modules performance. Increasingly becoming easier for the hobbiest to do this, whilst also become less popular in some respects as the void is being filled by manufacturers own overclocked components. Still nontheless possibilities are there to gain more grunt for you buck.

Refer to naming adspots you can use in Google adsense to track clicks - or television.

CPU

Central Processing Unit - the brain behind your computer which performs calculations. The processor is the main component of a PC.
